A Journey Through the Psalms and Proverbs

When I started writing Journey bios, my sweet wife and I were days away from having our sixth child even while being in the thick of enjoying the five already with us, ages 11, 9, 8, 6, and 4. Those were some good days!

Now 12 years later, the child who was not yet born is about to become an uncle, and I am about to become "Daddy Wags" to the first of what I hope is a gaggle of grandkids. That is hard to believe, and I can hardly wait! (Please submit grandparent-name ideas for Alex in the comments section.)

A SONG YOU WANT STUCK IN YOUR HEAD

Psalm 1

Book One

The Way of the Righteous and the Wicked

1:1 Blessed is the man [1]
who walks not in the counsel of the wicked,
nor stands in the way of sinners,
nor sits in the seat of scoffers;
but his delight is in the law [2] of the Lord,
and on his law he meditates day and night.

He is like a tree
planted by streams of water
that yields its fruit in its season,
and its leaf does not wither.
In all that he does, he prospers.
The wicked are not so,
but are like chaff that the wind drives away.

Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,
nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous;
for the Lord knows the way of the righteous,
but the way of the wicked will perish. (ESV)
