Watermark Community Church

A Journey Through the Psalms and Proverbs

Jayson Fisher

Jayson Fisher

Hey, Journeyers! My name is Jayson Fisher. I am the Equipping Resident at the Watermark Plano campus. I have been married to my beautiful wife Kylan for two-and-a-half years. We each lead a small group in Watermark's high school ministry in Plano. Fun fact about us: we met overseas in Israel while doing sports camps for kids. The Lord changed my life one day in the midst of a deep depression in 2010, and I pray that this devotional can encourage others who are in a similar place of deep sorrow.

Psalm 13

How Long, O Lord?

To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David.

13:1 How long, O Lord? Will you forget me forever?
How long will you hide your face from me?
How long must I take counsel in my soul
and have sorrow in my heart all the day?
How long shall my enemy be exalted over me?

Consider and answer me, O Lord my God;
light up my eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death,
lest my enemy say, “I have prevailed over him,”
lest my foes rejoice because I am shaken.

But I have trusted in your steadfast love;
my heart shall rejoice in your salvation.
I will sing to the Lord,
because he has dealt bountifully with me. (ESV)

Psalm 1:3

He is like a tree
planted by streams of water
that yields its fruit in its season,
and its leaf does not wither.
In all that he does, he prospers.
