A Journey Through the Psalms and Proverbs

Allye Foster

Allye Foster

Hi! My name is Allye, and I have a new life in Christ. This time last year, I believed the lie that God only loved me when I was good enough for Him. In 2016, the Lord used re:generation (Watermark's biblical recovery program) to set me free from these lies by showing me that grace is freely given through Christ (Ephesians 2:8-9). I serve with The Porch, Watermark’s young adult ministry, where I get to share this truth of God’s love in the same way a Porch volunteer shared the gospel with me in 2013 and forever changed my life.

Psalm 14

The Fool Says, There Is No God

To the choirmaster. Of David.

14:1 The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.”
They are corrupt, they do abominable deeds,
there is none who does good.

The Lord looks down from heaven on the children of man,
to see if there are any who understand, [1]
who seek after God.

They have all turned aside; together they have become corrupt;
there is none who does good,
not even one.

Have they no knowledge, all the evildoers
who eat up my people as they eat bread
and do not call upon the Lord?

There they are in great terror,
for God is with the generation of the righteous.
You would shame the plans of the poor,
but [2] the Lord is his refuge.

Oh, that salvation for Israel would come out of Zion!
When the Lord restores the fortunes of his people,
let Jacob rejoice, let Israel be glad. (ESV)

Psalm 1:3

He is like a tree
planted by streams of water
that yields its fruit in its season,
and its leaf does not wither.
In all that he does, he prospers.
