A Journey Through the Psalms and Proverbs

Julie Breedlove

Julie Breedlove

Hi! I’m Julie. I love history. I was a history major in college, and I love to read it, be it fiction or non-fiction. My history includes living many places growing up (Navy brat), prosecuting criminals for the State of Texas, getting married to a fellow lawyer, giving birth three times, adopting once (but adding three more children), and being sanctified by our risen Lord (an ongoing process, I assure you). Yep, I love history. But I love more knowing that my history is leading somewhere—an eternity that God has been preparing for me since before history began!

Psalm 114

Tremble at the Presence of the Lord

114:1 When Israel went out from Egypt,
the house of Jacob from a people of strange language,
Judah became his sanctuary,
Israel his dominion.

The sea looked and fled;
Jordan turned back.
The mountains skipped like rams,
the hills like lambs.

What ails you, O sea, that you flee?
O Jordan, that you turn back?
O mountains, that you skip like rams?
O hills, like lambs?

Tremble, O earth, at the presence of the Lord,
at the presence of the God of Jacob,
who turns the rock into a pool of water,
the flint into a spring of water. (ESV)

Psalm 8:9

O Lord, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!
